Problem Statement
Why this button doesn't work. Oh, I need to fill this one first.
Users often leave the product after visiting the "Billing" page without taking action.
The page layout does not accurately reflect the order of actions.
Product Improvements
Before
The page lacked visual hierarchy and failed to provide important information at the stage where users are potentially transitioning into paying customers.
After
A well-defined visual hierarchy emphasizes key information and actions, directing the user's attention.
Comprehensive pricing plan details enable users to make informed decisions directly within the product interface.
Before
Unintuitive and opaque processes led to user errors and uncertainty.
Button click activates a subscription without prior disclosure, posing the risk of unintentional enrollment.
After
A unified element, housing the flow, guides users through the process, ensuring a logical sequence of actions.
Clear progress indicators and a transparent payment summary enhance user confidence and trust.
The addition of promo code functionality supports sales and marketing initiatives.
Before
Incomplete consideration of subscription states resulted in insufficient information and poor user guidance.
After
Thorough analysis of the billing flow, considering all potential scenarios, enables a comprehensive subscription status indicator.
Clearly indicated actions assist users in navigating specific situations.
Concise copy and clear information inform users about their subscription status.
Due to the NDA, a high-resolution image of this flow cannot be publicly disclosed. For further insights, please feel free to contact me directly.
Outcome
70% increase in customer subscription rate
While multiple factors may contribute to increased subscription rates, the lack of major new features or significant sales efforts suggests that usability improvements were a key factor. This is reinforced by observed smoother user interactions post-implementation.
The improvement of the billing page and processes represents just one aspect of a multifaceted solution. To truly drive subscription growth, it's crucial to enhance the overall product experience and ensure it delivers compelling value to users and customers.
